Accounting Officer Job at Lubricants Supplies Ghana
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Officer to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing support to the Finance Manager. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities
Financial Transaction Management:
- Oversee daily financial transactions and ensure they are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
- Monitor and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
- Generate financial reports for management review and decision-making.
Compliance and Regulations:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal accounting and tax regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.
Support to Finance Manager:
- Assist the Finance Manager in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Provide detailed analysis and reports to support financial planning and strategy.
Internal Controls and Audits:
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits.
Software Proficiency:
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) for financial processing and reporting.
- Maintain proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting tasks.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance Economics or related field.
- A master’s degree or a professional certification (e.g., ICA, ACCA) is an added advantage
- At least 3/4 + years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail and Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
