It has been a well debated topic. The conclusion is that you can eat fruits at any time actually. but if you are eating it before a meal, it should be at least 30 mins to your meal and after. Just so that many reactions that would disturb your food would have taken place and you could eat in peace.

The best time to eat a fruit is preferably after a meal cause taking fruit before meal might upset the stomach especially fruit that are acidic in pH.
