Job Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Computing Instructor to join our dynamic team. As a Computing Instructor, you will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging educational content to students across various computing disciplines. This role requires expertise in areas such as programming languages, software development, computer science fundamentals, and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to student success, and a desire to stay current with industry trends and advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans and instructional materials for various computing courses.
- Provide engaging lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities to facilitate student learning and understanding.
- Create assessments, assignments, and projects to evaluate student progress and proficiency.
- Offer personalized support and guidance to students, including one-on-one assistance and tutoring as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.
- Stay abreast of advancements in computing technologies and update course content accordingly to ensure relevance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve curriculum, teaching methods, and instructional resources.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and academic committees as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring computing courses at the secondary or post-secondary level is preferred.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or others relevant to the curriculum.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to students with varying levels of expertise.
- General knowledge in Networking and Internet Basics, information systems and their role in organizations and ethical considerations in IT (privacy, security, copyright)
- Passion for education and a dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
- Commitment to staying current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in computing education.
